![]() It has been stealing time from my extensive amp collection and I find the app very easy to use and really like the choices (and more importantly, the sounds behind them) that the app affords. I've played through a Kemper, and I'd have to say that the Spark, to me, is a poor man's all in one baby Kemper. The quality of the tones, the amps and the effects, just impress me greatly. When Tom Scholtz Rockman came out in the early 80's, it gave the opportunity to use headphones for late night practice. And of course, I lived with my folks the first two years of college, About the best I could do then for a practice amp was a low volume setting on my Fender Musicmaster bass amp (great guitar amp too even without mods) or a (ugh) Peavey Bandit. I've been living in a physical house with my wife and kids for the last 26 years of my adulthood, so I can play my large amps during the day (generally when I'm home alone) but before that it was apartments, dorms, and shared houses/condos/townhouses with roommates during my 15 year single period. It takes single coils, humbuckers and p90s equally well. To me, the Spark is comparable to my Phil Jones practice combo amp in speaker quality and sound) ( edit: I'm reminded of how great the tiny Phil Jones bass speakers sound. I feel it produces a very rich sound at all volume levels. The master volume/output control can bring that great sound at loud volume down to a very reasonable level for late night/apartment playing. Since then, I've really be wowed with this amp and along with the outstanding tones that it offers, AH but it's the SPEAKERS, oh the SPEAKERS, they really defy their small size with their room filling sound when cranked. ![]() So I got one and have had it for about 6 months. I don't need a 1" thick manual like some of my music devices to navigate using it. I was very impressed with the user friendly nature of the Spark. I also scrolled through some of the presets and the settings my friend's son had programmed, and again was duly impressed with those tones, particularly in the high gain hard rock area. I have a Bluesbreaker and know what it sounds and feels like. I quickly found a Bluesbreaker type tone in the Glassy section that I really, really like, with a bit of reverb added. I couldn't believe the great tones in the different programs, nor the quality of the "Jimi Hendrix pack" of amps and effects. I was at a friend's house and his son has the Spark. I myself own a really nice sounding Super Champ XD that I put a Ragin' Cagin in and a Roland Micro Cube that I really like for late night playing, so I'm no stranger to modeling. 20 years ago, I played in bands with folks who used Line 6 Spider amps that were fairly good at modeling. ![]() Although you can find Positive Grid discounts everywhere on the web, you won’t be able to find our exclusive coupons and deals combined with Positive Grid cash back and referrer commission. As we always use verified Positive Grid coupons, our Positive Grid coupons and deals page has a success rate of 93%.I've had tube amps since 1973 and all kinds.
